A step toward a biofloc system with no‐carbon addition: Increasing dietary lipid level enhances the water quality and body chemical composition without affecting tilapia health status

چکیده
A 70-day experiment was carried out to evaluate biofloc system operation with no carbon addition by manipulating dietary protein and lipid levels for Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivation. Three treatments were conducted; Control treatment (C; fed on a 30% crude [CP] diet supplemented 3% vegetable oil [VO] + of external source [ECS] in rearing tank), low protein–low (LPLL; 23% CP (VO) ECS) protein–high (LPHL; 9% VO ECS). The C recorded the highest values (p < 0.05) terms final body weight (FBW), specific growth rate, floc volume, total suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen. No significant differences observed between LPHL regarding FBW efficiency ratio. liver sections showed better histological alteration index compared control. It could be concluded that applying using diets may afford water quality conditions, limit environmental impact decrease costs limited effect fish performance.

Correlation of dietary protein intake with body composition and physical status in patients with knee osteoarthritis
Background and Objectives: Little is known about the association between dietary protein intake and clinical manifestations in osteoarthritis (OA) patients. We aimed to determine the correlation between dietary protein intake and pain severity, functional status, and body composition indices in patients with knee OA. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 220 OA pat...

A 56 days grow-out experiment with three protein levels (35, 40 and 45%) and three lipid levels (5, 10 and 15%) was conducted to evaluate the optimum protein and lipid ratio for Oriental River Prawn (Macrobrachium nipponense). Four hundred and five prawns, with mean (± SD) weight of 1.40 ± 0.04 g were distributed in 27 glass aquaria and were fed four times daily. Results showed that interaction...
